Useful information on prague, czech republic, by maxin prague dmc

The Czech Republic is a two-chamber parliamentary democracy with a President as a head of the state. We are a member country of i.e. the EU, NATO, UN, IMF and the World Bank Group. From January to June 2009 the Czech Republic held the Presidency of the EU. The Czech Republic is a member of the Schengen area, however, we are not a member of the Euro zone.

The local currency is Czech Crown (approx. 26 CZK/1 EUR; 24 CZK/1 USD; 36 CZK/1 GBP). Although EUR is not the local currency, it is accepted in the majority of city centre shops, however, the exchange rate used is disadvantageous.

Shops in the city centre are open from Monday to Sunday usually from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
